Bariatric Medicine
Denise E. Bruner, M.D. is a second generation physician who is also a second generation graduate from Howard University College of Medicine. After her residency program at D.C. General Hospital, she re-opened her late father's general medical practice in Arlington, Va. Inspired by her personal struggle with her weight and seeing the negative impact obesity was having on her patients' medical problems, she pursued further training in bariatric medicine. She joined the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) in 1983, and became certified by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine in 1985. As one the nation’s leading bariatric specialists (medical doctors who are specially trained in the science of obesity and eating disorders), Dr. Bruner has helped thousands to identify, understand and manage successfully their weight control problems. She regularly lectures and attends medical educational seminars for physicians around the world. She is a frequent guest on both television and radio programs, and is quoted in numerous publications. As part of her weight maintenance program, she regularly walks two miles and when time permits, she plays golf. |

Advanced Aesthetics
Dr. Bruner is one of the nation’s leading physicians in Mesotherapy, also referred to as “Lipodissolve.” Mesotherapy is a revolutionary non-surgical method of eliminating problematic fat deposits and cellulite. Mesotherapy provides a unique alternative to surgical procedures such as liposuction. Dr. Bruner was personally trained by Dr. Lionel Bissoon, who pioneered Mesotherapy in the United States. She became certified by North American Society of Meso-Lipotherapy and the Bissoon Institute of Mesotherapy in 2004.
Dr. Bruner and her associates have assisted patients in their desire to age beautifully and gracefully. In her aesthetic medical practice, she has combined expertise in non-invasive cosmetic enhancements along with multiple cosmetic laser applications that include: hair removal, micro laser peels, skin rejuvenation, acne and rosacea treatment, and treatment of spider veins. These treatments are specifically suited and safe for all skin tones and ethnicities. She became certified by The Ageless Aesthetic Institute in 2007.
