Dr. Bruner
Denise E. Bruner, M.D. is a second generation physician practicing in Arlington, Virginia. Like her father, Dr. Herman Bruner, she graduated from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C.. After completing her residency in internal medicine at D.C. General Hospital, she re-opened her late father's general medical practice in Arlington, Va.

She joined the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) in 1983, became certified by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine in 1985, and served as president of ASBP from 1999 to 2002. She was honored to become the first female fellow of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) in 2002. Dr. Bruner has emerged as one of the nation’s leading authorities on bariatric medicine. She has helped thousands to identify, understand and successfully manage their weight control problems with personalized programs.
Dr. Bruner regularly lectures and is a speaker at medical education seminars for physicians and health care professionals around the world. She is a frequent guest on both television and radio programs, and has been quoted in numerous publications. Most recently, Dr. Bruner was a guest on the Dr. Oz Show (January 23rd, 2012).
