Using Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is the cornerstone of Anti-Aging Medicine and is a treatment option for both men and women. Bio-Identical Hormones are manufactured to have the exact molecular structure as the hormones that are made by your own body.  Hormones fluctuate during our lifetime, but declining levels occur as we age.  When you begin to experience symptoms such as: weight gain, mood swings, lack of energy, sleep disturbances, hot flashes or lack of libido, these can be due to a lack or imbalance of your hormones.  Restoring hormonal balance will promote optimal aging and help you enjoy your life.

Dr. Bruner offers the following BHRT options:

  • Topical creams and gels

  • Oral tablets and capsule

  • Transdermal patches

  • Injections

  • Intradermal pellet insertion

Dr. Bruner’s BHRT Protocol

During your initial consultation, Dr. Bruner and her team will begin with a comprehensive review of your medical history and symptoms.  Dr. Bruner can then determine what laboratory tests are appropriate.  For your convenience, many of these tests can be performed here in our office at the time of your visit.

At your next visit, Dr. Bruner will review your test results, and discuss possible treatment options with bio-identical hormones which may include estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, DHEA and/or pregnenolone.  These recommendations are specifically tailored to your individual need. Each patient is monitored carefully through regular follow up visits and blood testing to ensure optimal symptom relief at the most appropriate dose.

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement

Hormonal imbalances in women can cause a variety of unpleasant symptoms. These imbalances can occur when a woman approaches menopause, or in menopause which occurs around her 50th year, or even years before. Three main hormones are responsible for these imbalances: estrogen, testosterone and progesterone. There is no reason for women to suffer through these unpleasant symptoms. BHRT helps to restore that “joie de vivre,” greatly improving the overall health and quality of life.

Symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance often include:

  • Mood swings

  • Depression

  • “Brain fog”

  • Hot flashes

  • Night sweats

  • Insomnia/sleep disturbances

  • Weight gain

  • Increased anxiety and irritability

  • Fatigue

  • Decreased sex drive

For Men

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement

An estimated one in every four men experience low testosterone. For most men, this decline begins as early as age 40. While these lower levels may not be noticeable on their own, by the time a man reaches the age of 60, his testosterone levels could be half of what they were during adolescence. This testosterone decline is the reason for so many of the common ailments that men associate with age.

Hormone replacement therapy naturally returns testosterone to optimal levels, leading to better overall health, sense of well-being and vastly improved quality of life.

Testosterone deficiency is associated with symptoms such as:

  • Lost or reduced sex drive

  • Hair loss

  • Erectile dysfunction

  • Decline in cognitive function and memory

  • Depression or anxiety

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Muscle loss or weakness

  • Fatigue

  • Weight gain

  • Poor exercise tolerance
